Artist Simona Candini is graduated at the Academy Of Fine Arts University of Bologna

and she is currently based in Italy.

Her works, showcased in galleries around the globe, embody a beautiful yet sometimes dark world inhabited by big eyed girls and improbable creatures. With a stirring of emotions translated onto each new work of art, Simona brings her love of the old fairytales and childhood imaginings to us in a unique and poetic way. She is a traditional artist and enjoys using oils, watercolor, acrylics, graphite and pencils on paper, canvas and wood boards. Simona hand paints and personalize most frames to match her artworks and to make them unique as her art.

Welcome to my "Princesses Of The Chinese Zodiac" Solo Show at Copro Gallery, Santa Monica (CA.). Through vivid colours, intricate details, and a touch of magical realism, I wanted each princess to feel alive and deeply connected to her symbol, embodying qualities like strength, wisdom, and grace. My hope is that viewers will feel drawn into a world of symbolism and imagination, where each painting tells its own unique story  (Read more)

The Parallel Vision Interview (in Italian)

The past few years have forced a lot of challenges onto us, yet the wheel is gradually turning again. I’ve spoken with many artists who are, slowly but surely, coming out of the depths of personal darkness. While the world is far from healed from current events, artists are sharing their voices and their artworks to remind us that all is not lost. One such artist is Simona Candini. Her solo show, REBEL QUEENS, explores and celebrates five “rebel woman” from history.   (Read more)

Simona Candini started her artistic journey as a child. Her first desires were to create, to paint, to develop an art skill. During her life, as many of us can relate, those dreams were stopped by what we call a reality of adult life. Fortunately for us and for her many fans around the world, she found her inner spark and made a fire. A fire of creativity, craft, and beauty.  (Read more)

Even when we cannot change things, we can still choose how to react to them, and by doing this we create a shift of energy that we release into the universe.

We can ignite a spark, something that will initiate a chain of events that will inevitably create that change that we are seeking.  (Read more)

Heroine journey interview Simona Candini art artist pop surrealism modern big eyes lowbrow fantasy

What is the best thing that I love about my work? My work gives me the chance to connect with people to a deeper level. When my collectors tell me that they relate with my work, are moved by it, or when they tell me that my art is somehow helping them out at an emotional level, helping them overcoming depression, or bearing the pain, that’s what I love the most about my work. Most of my paintings are very personal and speaks about my feelings, so this is a “virtuous circle”, where art is a therapy for both who makes it and who receives it. I think that every form of art, as a pure act of creation, is a little miracle. (Read more)

<<Italian-born artist Simona Candini embraces the darkness. Merging her love for manga and the Japanese aesthetic with the Italian masters that influenced her so heavily growing up, the result creates a dream-like image with a sinister undertone. Bringing together fairy tale elements and childlike imaginings to her canvas, she has recently started to translate her style to platform toys with great success>>
